New vs. Used corks

Every now and then I get an email asking me if the corks I use for the wine cork place card holders are new corks or if they have been used and when I mention that they are factory seconds, meaning they are not used, I sometimes get the feeling that turns people away. What some people don't understand is that you are getting a much better product by going with a factory second cork over a used cork. When a cork is used, meaning it has been put in a wine bottle and then taken out, after it is taken out the cork can become deformed and at times, very small. A factory second cork was intended for bottling, but because it may have the smallest imperfections it can't be used. So because these corks have not been used, they are more uniform in shape and much studier because they are just a tad larger in shape which makes the flat base a little larger, in turn, less rolling and tipping when a card is inserted. Our wine cork place card holders can also be ordered months and years in advance because there is zero chance of the slit closing back up due to heat, humidity and other environmental factors - which may be the case with used corks.
Overall, it's your preference as to what type of cork you would prefer, but CorkeyCreations.com feels you are getting a much better wine cork place card holders when factory second corks are used.
